Is your org ready for the migration to Hyperforce?

Salesforce Hyperforce is a next-generation infrastructure designed to leverage the power of public cloud services. It enhances scalability, security, and performance by allowing Salesforce applications to be hosted on major public cloud platforms. This architecture provides businesses with greater control over data residency and compliance, supporting local data storage and processing to meet regional regulations. Hyperforce also improves performance by reducing latency through localized data centers, ensuring a more responsive user experience. Moreover, it facilitates rapid innovation and deployment of Salesforce’s Customer 360 applications, enabling organizations to scale and secure their operations more effectively.

As Salesforce transitions to Hyperforce, it’s crucial for admins to prepare and ensure a smooth migration. Here are some practical steps and best practices to guide you through this significant migration:

1. Understand the benefits of Hyperforce

Hyperforce brings several key advantages, including:

  • Scalability: Easily scale your resources to match business growth.
  • Security: Built on zero-trust architecture with encryption for data at rest and in transit.
  • Compliance and Data Residency: Choose where your data is stored to meet regional compliance requirements.
  •  Performance: Improved performance with faster development environments and reduced maintenance downtime.

2. Prepare your org for migration

Start by conducting a thorough review of your current setup:

  1. Enable My Domain: This helps avoid hard-coded URLs and facilitates smoother migration.
  2. Remove Hard-Coded References: Replace instance-specific URLs (e.g., na12.salesforce.com) with generic or relative URLs.
  3. Update IP Ranges: Ensure that your allowed IP ranges include those required by Hyperforce.
  4. Check Integrations: Ensure all integrations are compatible with HTTP/1.1, as Hyperforce does not support HTTP/1.0.

3. Use hyperforce assistant

Salesforce provides Hyperforce Assistant, a tool designed to guide you through the migration process. When launching the Hyperforce Assistant from the Setup menu, you will find two different pages. Let’s explore the features that each of these pages contain:

  • Learn Page: Offers resources and important notices about Hyperforce.
  • Prepare Page: Includes a checklist of automated and manual checks to ensure your org is ready for migration. This includes verifying hard-coded references, checking connectivity to Hyperforce, and enabling enhanced domains.

4. Conduct a pilot migration

Consider starting with a small pilot project to identify potential issues and refine your migration strategy. This approach allows you to address any challenges on a smaller scale before a full-scale migration.

5. Optimize and monitor post-migration

After migrating to Hyperforce, it’s important to monitor your systems closely :

  • Check for Performance Issues: Regularly monitor performance and address any bottlenecks.
  • Update Documentation: Ensure all internal documentation reflects the changes post-migration.
  • Ongoing Training: Keep your team updated on the new features and best practices associated with Hyperforce.

By following these best practices, you can ensure a seamless transition to Hyperforce, leveraging its powerful capabilities to enhance your Salesforce environment.
